Tuesday 23rd September we are at Leederville Sporting Club where we will hold a debrief about the VAD presentation and hopefully have a chance to meet our exchange student Jin who arrived Wednesday evening. Welcome, Jin.

Before we came to LSC Wednesday evening, David, Jane and I visited the mini forest planted earlier this year on the boundary of the Floreat Athena Soccer Ground in Mount Hawthorn so we have a bit of an idea how the process works. We've been given the opportunity to visit an established forest in Padbury on
2 October so please register if you'd like to attend.
The Thermomix raffle should be up and running in the next few weeks so start thinking about promoting it.

Understanding Voluntary Assisted Dying
Community Presentation
About 70 people joined us for our Voluntary Assisted Dying Presentation on 17th September. Our presenter, Dr Alistair Vickery did a great job discussing such an emotive issue with great sensitivity and a touch of humour.
The club received very positive feedback from attendees and, as well as comments in our survey, several emails:

Renee Kennedy, an acclaimed film and television producer is our Guest Speaker. Renee is currently producing a feature film adaptation of the celebrated novel "The Golden Age", by Joan London. The Golden Age is set in a 1950s Perth children's convalescent home during the polio epidemic. Her talk will connect the poignant story of this compelling post-war narrative to Rotary's ongoing mission.
Rotarians are able to make an on-line donation towards the End Polio Now Campaign at the time of booking or purchase a raffle ticket on the night. All funds raised will be linked back to your club when forwarded to Rotary International.
