Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us on Friday night, cheering David on for leading us through the 2025-26 Rotary year and sending good wishes to me for the current year. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Peter and Lindley, Mary and Gaby.You missed an enjoyable evening. The Terrace Room at the Cottesloe Golf Club was perfect for us and I'd like to extend a special thank you to Rohan for performing as MC and organising the golf club as our venue, and Tony, for the behind-the-scenes admin work in updating RI with our new details and organising pins and the presidential collar.
Remember, the presidential message for 2026-27 is CREATE LASTING IMPACT and even though we are a small club, we will continue to make a lasting impact.
Our first meeting of the new Rotary year is Tuesday 14th July so you can slip in a game of golf or enjoy a lie in on Tuesday. The 14th of July meeting will focus on the results of our recent club survey and what we have planned for the coming year.
Osborne Park has invited us to a soup night on 1st of August which is a fundraiser for "My Home" (invitation below). It's the Saturday night of the SuperCars weekend so if you are up to it, please make the effort to attend. I'll put it on our calendar as an optional event however make sure you RSVP to Osborne Park by 24th of July.
I look forward to another good year with the support of all members for the activities we have planned.

JIN UPDATE
Jane, Jin and I left Yokine at 9:00am this morning on our mission for Jin to visit the Busselton Jetty (her mum visited it in 1999). It was a very pleasant, sunny morning when we left but by the time we got to Bunbury, the rain had well and truly set in. We decided to show Jin the Margaret River area before coming back to Busselton to check into our accommodation and the rain was kind enough to stop when we arrived at the chocolate factory and then again at Cowaramup.
We visited Charles and Lorna Johnson in Margaret River and met their son, Jason. Jason and Jin hit it off and were soon chatting away like old friends. They started talking skateboards and surfing, and next thing you know, Jin has a skateboard to take home. Her excess luggage is going to be interesting. Of course, we had to stop at Simmos for an ice-cream on our way back to Busselton. I think ice-cream is Jin's favourite food group, and she enjoyed a double cup while Jane and I had a kiddy cup.
We had a few challenges booking into our accommodation, but we rolled with the punches, and it was eventually sorted out. A delicious Indian meal, writing this newsletter and then it's time for bed.
