You may notice the newsletter is a day late. I didn't have the energy to write it by the time I'd arrived home from the car parking yesterday, showered and collapsed on the couch.

 

I expect there's quite a few Rotarians, family and friends with tired feet today after spending between one and three days helping park cars at the V8 Supercars over the weekend and, in turn, raising over $5,000 for our club's projects. What a mammoth effort. A HUGH THANK YOU to everyone who helped out. We enjoyed perfect weather and the crowd was full of good humour...out to enjoy their day.

 

It sounds like we might have one more year at Wanneroo before the race moves into Burswood.

 

A special thank you to David for his hard work in putting the roster together and organising our volunteers.

 

The summary of David's visit to Timor Leste installing water filters will appear in our next newsletter as his focus has been elsewhere since the last meeting.

Our next meeting is Tuesday 11th August (the second Tuesday, not the first) and we will have another club discussion about planned events for the coming year. I'll be sending out an email today asking directors to add expected expenditure for existing projects or if you have any passion projects, you'd like the club to consider this year so they can be considered at the 11th August meeting.

 

A reminder that we have a weeding session scheduled for Thursday morning 6th August from8:00 - 11:00am. Park opposite 77 Strickand St, Swanbourne.

 

 

 

Jin, and her family have been visiting Japan and catching up with her Japanese friend. They were not impacted by the earthquake while they were there.
