Thank you to the members who attended our club forum on Tuesday 14 July. We had some fruitful discussions around the results of the club survey and, among other things, agreed that we will change our meeting schedule and meet on the first and third Tuesday of the month. Extra activities such as Foodbank collections and car parking will be slotted in around our meetings. The newsletter will also be published fortnightly.
We still have a number of other things to discuss and tasks to be delegated, and we'll cover off on these at our meeting on 11 August.
PP David is our speaker at our next meeting on 28 July where he will give us an overview of his trip to Timor Leste installing water filters.
Jane and I are planning to attend the soup night hosted by RC Osborne Park on 1st August. The event is to raise funds for the next "My Home" development in Carlisle so if you'd like to join us and help raise some funds, email Osborne Park (details in the flyer below) and register your attendance. We might be feeling a bit weary after parking cars for the V8 Supercars, but an evening of friendship for a good cause will reinvigorate us.
By the way, have you registered to assist with the Supercars parking Friday 31 July, Saturday 1 August or Sunday 2 August? Check with friends and family to see if they can assist as the event is the club's biggest fundraiser.
A group of us went to the airport to farewell Jin on Monday morning and after her flight to Taiwan via Sydney, she is home in Tai Chung after a wonderful 10 months in Western Australia. The photo above shows Jin at home with her Mum and the Ikea snake she bought before she left.
We've had a few messages from Jin:
"Pretty bored actually. Everything feels so familiar but a bit weird and just back to normal life (boringšāāļø). The weather here is killing me, so hot and humid, just stand outside for like 2 mins, will dieš„µ Sounds good, I miss the life thereš„ŗand of course you guysš„°"
This response after I sent her a photo of 8 pool tables at the Italian club: "Woww omg I wanna go there hahahha. Back here, I wanna play pool, but thereās no one can play pool with me. Iām so bored here"
I'm repeating the general message of Michael's words at Tuesday's meeting, thanking club members for agreeing to host Jin and giving her such a good time on her exchange which in turn, allowed Michael and Wendy's granddaughter, Ella, to travel to Argentina on exchange. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ENTHUSIASM. A special thank you to Jane for stepping in so I could cruise with my son and Donna so Jane and I could attend the Rotary convention.

LOOKING FOR 2 VOLUNTEERS
Osborne Park Rotaryrun the egg and bacon stall at the Stirling Farmers Market on Sunday mornings. Osborne Park offered the proceeds from the stall on 30th August to the "My Home" project however we need to provide the volunteers to run it.
Jane and I agreed to help out however, since we offerred, we've both been offered a paid gig working at the City to Surf from 6:30am - 12:00pm on the day. And, we need a paid gig...it will pay for our next holiday
WHO CAN PUT THEIR HAND UP TO TAKE OUR PLACE AND HELP OUT FOR THE MORNING? IT'S GOOD FUN AND LAST TIME JANE & I HELPED, WE RAISED ~$3000. LET ME KNOW PLEASE.
