Remember, Tuesday night 19th August is our Rotary Reunion event. I will send out a list of attendees later today. Please check to see if everyone you invited and are expecting to attend are on the list so I can make sure the venue has the table set up for the right number of guests.
We have a joint meeting scheduled for Wednesday 27th August with RC of Cambridge for the DG visit. I need to provide numbers to Cambridge by 25th August so please make sure you register or decline.

TERRACOTTA WARRIORS VISIT

Those of us who attended the Terracotta Warriors enjoyed our visit. Imagine how the farmer who came across these artifacts felt when he found them.
After spending as couple of hours viewing the exhibition, most of the group headed for the Pica Bar for some food, drinks and chit chat.
It was a very enjoyable evening.

DG Visit 27th August - some info about our District Governor.
Veronica is an undergraduate and postgraduate of Curtin University. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Public Relations), and has a Master of Philosophy (Public Relations) action research degree. Her Masters research focused on Culture,changeandprofessionalisationinthenon-profitsector. Veronica is currently examining DiversityonWAnot-for-profitBoards.
Veronica’s passion is in communications and has extensive experience in PR/Communications in the non-profit, private, corporate and government sectors. She has worked for such organisations as HBF (Western Australia’s largest private health insurer), WA Football Commission, the local community (Perth Ramble) and Presbyterian Ladies’ College. Veronica has previously been a sessional academic at Curtin in the School of Management (Communication in Business) and the School of Marketing (PR Foundations and PR Techniques). She has also been Acting Unit Coordinator for PR Campaign Planning and Evaluation, Cross Cultural Communications, PR Techniques, Discovering PR, PR Internship and PR Transmedia Storytelling. Veronica has taught PR units at Curtin, Singapore and Notre Dame, Sydney.
Veronica is a Justice of the Peace, and Chairperson of SouthCare Inc., a leading non-profit providing quality aged care, home care and community services that support independent living in own home and community.
Rotary roles include Club President (2022-2023; 2023-2024) and PR Officer (2019-current), Director of Youth Services (2019-2021) and Club Services (2021-2022) at the Mill Point Rotary Club in South Perth. She was also a member of the RC of Melville in the early ‘90s. Veronica is currently the Rotary representative on NYSF.
An ex-local government councillor for the City of South Perth (2010 – 2015) she has a good knowledge of local government, constitutions, governance and stakeholder engagement. She has also served as a board member/Chairperson on Consumers of Mental Health WA (CoMHWA) and Advocare Inc.
Veronica is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD); the Public Relations Institute of Western Australia (PRIA); the Chartered Institute of Public Relations UK (CIPR), and Women on Boards.
